Tape to Digital Audio Transfer Service
We specialize in transferring 4-track reel-to-reel tapes to digital audio. We are now pleased to also be able to offer to transfer your 2-track reel-to-reel tapes and cassettes.
Do you have valuable tape recordings but are unable to play them?
Would you like those tapes reliably transferred to CD or DVD or to a Digital Audio File format?
Then we can help:
Our service:
At Reel4Transfer.com, we specialise in providing a high-quality, yet affordable, transfer service for transferring your analogue tape recordings into the digital domain.
The analogue tape to digital transfer process is carefully monitored for quality, and we place emphasis on the faithful transfer of your audio. All recorded material normally remains un-edited (the only exception being where the need for repair forces editing). Minor repairs to tapes are made as a matter of course if necessary (and where possible - we do not currently offer a full tape restoration service).
We use studio tape machines (maintained to a high standard) along with high quality analogue-to-digital convertors in order to transfer your tapes into your chosen digital format.
Please note that reel-to-reel tapes must be 1/4-inch width. 4-track multitrack tapes should be recorded using NAB equalisation (standard on Teac A3340 and A3440 machines, for example), on spools up to 10 1/2-inch (either cine or NAB-type spools are fine) and should normally be recorded at either 7 1/2 or 15 i/sec (also called ips: inches per second). We are also able to accomodate a variety of 2-track reel-to-reel and cassette formats.
What we provide:
- The transfer of multitrack tape recordings to audio CD (or DVD) and/or to digital audio files. Note that we offer several different file-format alternatives (see below). Our service is ideal for those wishing to import valuable old tape recordings into contemporary computer-based DAW software packages such as Ardour, Cubase, Digital Performer, Logic, Nuendo, Pro-Tools, Pyramix, Reaper, Samplitude, Sequoia, Sonar, Soundscape, etc. for mixing/mastering.
We can also provide you with a stereo mix from your multitrack (4-track) tapes on request.
- The transfer of stereo (or mono) 1/4-inch reel-to-reel tapes (either quarter-track or half-track) to a stereo file (see options below) and/or to audio CD.
- The transfer of stereo (or mono) cassette tapes to a stereo file (see options below) and/or to audio CD.
